Another Kentucky Derby Day in the books! No matter where I happen to be or what horse wins, I always look forward to the first Saturday in May. There is nothing like the excitement that’s experienced in the days that lead up to the Kentucky Derby… from handicapping the perfect winning ticket to perfecting the winning outfit. Though I didn’t cash a single ticket this year…. I at least managed to arrive in the money with this year’s ensemble:
Kentucky Derby 2017 – #CiaratogaStyle:
- Dress – Nine West Gingham Collared Dress, $99, LeTote.com
- Fascinator – Christine A. Moore Millinery, camhats.com
- Cardigan – J. Crew (not in season)
- Handbag – DesOri Horse Flatbag, Night Blue, desorihorse.com
- Watch – Daniel Wellington Classic Petite Sterling Silver & Black, $179, DanielWellington.com
- Use the code, “CIARATOGA” for 15% off your watch order 🙂
So… I have this thing with navy blue and white. I looked back at my last four Kentucky Derby Day outfits and they all worked in this color scheme. To me the color is super elegant, timeless, and can coordinate with basically any other color. To make this year’s outfit selection go a bit quicker, I loaded up my LeTote box with three dresses that would be great for a race day or spring event. If you’re unfamiliar with LeTote, it is a monthly clothing subscription service in which you choose three clothing items and two accessories. You can wear the clothes as long as you like and if you decided you want to keep something from the box… simply don’t mail it back in the pre-stamped envelope they provide along with the tote. With the ease of LeTote I have been able to try so many different styles and create new outfits without having to break the bank. It also saves my purchasing clothes I”ll only wear once. If you’re interested in learning more about LeTote, shoot me a message. This dress by Nine West was absolutely perfect for Derby Day… It wasn’t a particularly warm day and it rained on and off. Once I thew on my little cardigan I felt like I was on my way to a southern picnic!
About these details: I adore the simplicity or both this handbag by DesOri Horse and Daniel Wellington watch. I recently splurged on this handcrafted horse bag from Venice as an early birthday present to myself. The Daniel Wellington Classic Petite 32mm watch is sterling silver and has a mesh band. The two pieces complemented each other perfectly.
In the market for a timepiece or know someone that is? You can’t really go wrong with Daniel Wellington’s selection of contemporary watches. The mesh strap comes also comes in rose gold plating and is very easy to adjust, which if you’re plagued with baby wrists like me… you know the importance of this! Don’t forget to use my code (CIARATOGA) at checkout for an additional 15% off your purchase at DanielWellington.com.
