Luxury in Long Beach – #LBJazzFest w. @lincolnmotorco #LuxuryUncovered

I love exploring Los Angeles! From behind the steering wheel to behind the stage I was privileged to be a guest of the Lincoln Motor Company at the Long Beach Jazz Festival this past Sunday, August 9th.

Angelinos spend an insane amount of time behind the wheel, why not commute in luxury? I’ll be in the market for a new vehicle in 2016, and after my experience the Lincoln MKC is an early favorite.

My Aunt (@gigiworks) came along for the ride!

Initially thought that Matthew McConaughey was the reason why driving a Lincoln MKC looked incredibly appealing, but once I got behind the wheel I knew that this crossover was in a league of its own. Using the MyLincoln Mobile App, you can control your vehicle from a far including remote car start, lock/unlock and locate your vehicle at all times. The softest grade of leather (which comes in “Thoroughbred Black” ) blanketed the five seats and steering wheel which contained basically every control button you’d ever need to work the vehicle. The backseat and trunk area passed my lifestyle test: Space for riding boots & track hats? Can my golf clubs lay flat? Will the beach umbrella and camping tent fit? Yup, let’s ride.

In terms of performance, my test drive was great. I’ve owned and leased two crossover SUVs and I really wanted to pay attention to how the vehicle handled turns and driving uphill. I was lucky that the course I drove provided me an opportunity to address those concerns. The MKC has six-speed automatic transmission with roll stability control, so I was able to conquer those curves with comfort and control.

Parting Gifts from Lincoln

Following the test drive, the team at Lincoln Motor Co was gracious enough to provide a sweet parting gift along with special access to the Long Beach Jazz Festival! Time for some sun and sounds…

The 28th Annual Long Beach Jazz Festival spanned over 3 days and included incredible artists this past weekend including Chrisette Michele, Stephanie Mills, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and several more. Seasoned jazz singer Barbara Morrison got the crowd moving with her vocal class and sass, check her out:

Following Barbara Morrison was renowned jazz pianist Keiko Matsui. I grabbed some great footage thanks to the box seats and backstage access that was provided by the team at Lincoln!

Walking the grounds of Rainbow Lagoon Park while listening to incredible live music and driving nice vehicles alongside the ocean… is the true definition of #LuxuryUncovered. Lincoln, you’re on to something.

Of course, what would Ciaratoga outing be without a little style? I scored this *amazing* oversized hat from a vendor at the festival! The hat is originally from Kenya and it’s made out of leaves. Once I saw it at the @SpendLosAngeles pop-up shop, I knew I needed it for my next race day!
