#TheWoodward

First off, I am just stupid excited to be home visiting Saratoga for its 151st closing weekend, finally!!

Today’s $600,000 Grade 1 Woodward Stakes is sure to be an exciting one! Let’s take a quick look at some of the major contenders in this race to see who may cross the finish line first.

It is clear that MORENO has quite a history of success at the Spa. Coming off a impressive win in the 2014 Whitney Handicap, he stands out as the favorite in the Woodward. Moreno knows how to handle Saratoga’s dirt course well and I have no doubt that he will be able to keep a steady pace through the race and challenge contenders. ITSMYLUCKYDAY and ZIVO. ITSMYLUCKYDAY was on a three-win streak before coming in second to Moreno in the Whitney Handicap at Saratoga earlier this month.

Itsmyluckyday should not have an issue maintaining speed and distance as long as he has a successful break from post position #1, which I think will greatly determine how he fares. In the entire field of 10, I think that ZIVO is the one to watch out for in the Woodward. Undefeated in all of his starts in 2014, this will be the first time he returns to Saratoga since 2012. He most recently defeated Moreno in the Grade 1 Suburban Handicap at Belmont Park in July. Watch out ladies and gents, because Zivo is a closer!

Here’s are my Ciaratoga Picks for The Woodward Stakes using:

#4 Moreno
#6 Zivo
#2 Itsmyluckyday
#3 Micromanage

Bet A: $20 Win Place on #6 = $40

Bet B: $4 Exacta 3,4,6 with 3,2,4,6 = $36

Bet C: $1 Trifecta Box with 2,3,4,6 = $24

Giddy up and good luck!
